Awards for 2015!

The following players are recognized for their outstanding performances during 2015:

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER AWARD

 

DELLA LUTZ   

Della achieved a personal best NASPA rating of 828 (and won $300) with her first place finish in Div. 3 of the Lexington, KY tourney in November! Her Charleston club rating rose accordingly. Della also became a certified Scrabble club/tourney director in 2015!

SPIRIT AWARD

RANJI ADUKIA 

Daiva played 43 club games, which put her in a tie for most club games in 2015! She also made good on her vow to become a more consistently gracious sportswoman! Angela played 43 club games, too, and she continued to be a director’s dream, that good-natured and skillful competitor who will cheerfully match wits with anyone! Ranji did this rather serenely as well, befitting her relatively new status as an adoring granny. She played at the club whenever she could. And she always brought cake!!!

CHERYL HAWKER

Mary played 40 bingos at the club meetings in 2015 and seven of them were phoneys! The most outrageous and amusing included PLEDGIES*, SOUTINE*, and AZONITE*!!!  Cheryl may have set a record for highest rate of phoney bingos! (The former math prof had 4/7 = 57 %.) Her most outrageous phoneys were DUNSTING* and OLANITE*!! There really are a lot of minerals and chemicals, but YEESH (actually acceptably now)!

SINCERITY AWARD

 

WENDY EDWARDS 

  Wendy qualified for this award by averaging at least one bingo per game and having no bogus bingos recorded all year. She actually played 17 acceptable bingos in 16 games!
